A Circle of Joy Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you join our mailing list, fill out an assessment form, or make a purchase from A Circle of Joy (the “Site”).

When we talk about “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, we are talking about both Device Information and Order Information. Currently, the only collection of your personal information done by us is as outlined in this policy statement. If, in the future, that changes, we will notify you if you are on our email list and post it on our Facebook page. It will also be changed in this Privacy Policy, stored on our Site. We understand the magnitude of your need for privacy, and guard it as we guard our own.

The only access we have to your personal information is what you input when you create an account, subscribe to our mailing list so you can receive our newsletter and blog posts, fill out an assessment form, or register for a group or individual sessions. But it is, in each of those cases, so we can serve you and try to meet your needs.

When you create an account, you are entering your name, email, phone number, and address. Your information does not leave our hands, nor do we use it for anything except sending you newsletters, blog posts, and if you request it, calling you for your free assessment call, or contacting you if you register for a group or individual sessions.

When you make a purchase or attempt to make a purchase through the Site, you are automatically taken to PayPal and/or any other “store” platform we may add in the future to complete your purchase yourself. We do not collect that information from your purchase, including we do not retain your name, billing address, shipping address, payment information (including credit card numbers, bank accounts, and any other methods of payment).

If, in the future, we add products that we need to ship, it will become necessary to use your order Information to fulfill any orders placed through the Site (that we have to ship). But we do not retain that information. Once we ship the product, we have no further collection of, or use of, your personal information. Currently we do not take bank or credit card information, nor do we process your payment information. That is done through a third-party payment platform, currently PayPal, but we will be adding an additional platform to better assist you with purchases that originate on our Site. Still, you will enter the payment info yourself, and we will not collect or use your payment information. IF THAT CHANGES IN THE FUTURE, WE WILL NOTIFY YOU VIA A NEWSLETTER, ON OUR FACEBOOK PAGE, AND IN THIS POLICY ON OUR WEBSITE.

Additionally, we use this Order Information to communicate with you about said sale, and to screen our orders for potential risk or fraud; and

    – “Log files” track actions occurring on the Site, and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.

    – “Web beacons,” “tags,” and “pixels” are electronic files used to record information about how you browse the Site.

We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).

We only share your Personal Information with third parties to help us use your Personal Information, as described above.  For example, we use PayPal to power our online store–you can read more about how PayPal uses your Personal Information here:  PayPal Purchase Protection for Buyers – PayPal US  We also use Google Analytics to help us understand how our customers use the Site–you can read more about how Google uses your Personal Information here:  https://www.google.com/intl/en/policies/privacy/.  You can also opt-out of Google Analytics here:  https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

If you are a European resident, you have the right to access personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information be corrected, updated, or deleted. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact us through the contact information below.

Additionally, if you are a European resident we note that we are processing your information in order to fulfill contracts we might have with you (for example if you make an order through the Site), or otherwise to pursue our legitimate business interests listed above.  Additionally, please note that your information will be transferred outside of Europe, including to Canada and the United States.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons. But again, we will include the change, if it happens, in a newsletter and on our Facebook page, and in this privacy policy, so you are aware the change is taking place.
